EMDR

You may feel like you understand your experiences on a logical level, yet still find yourself reacting, overthinking, or feeling overwhelmed in ways that don't fully make sense.

This is often because trauma and distressing experiences are not only stored in the mind-but also in the body.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process and release these unresolved experiences so they no longer feel as intense or overwhelming.

Rather than only talking through what happened, EMDR works by helping your brain reprocess memories in a way that allows you to feel more grounded, clear, and emotionally at ease.

This approach can be especially helpful for women who:

  • Feel stuck in patterns despite having insight and self-awareness
  • Experience anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or strong reactions to certain triggers
  • Struggle with negative beliefs about themselves, such as "I'm not enough" or "something is wrong with me"
  • Have a history of relationship trauma or childhood experiences that continue to impact them

In my work, I integrate EMDR within a supportive, paced, and trauma-informed approach. We move at a speed that feels safe for you, allowing your mind and body to process experiences in a way that supports lasting change.

I also incorporate brain-body approaches such as Brainspotting to support deeper emotional processing when appropriate.

You don't have to keep feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.

If you're ready to move beyond understanding and begin to feel differently, I invite you to reach out.

I offer in-person therapy in Birmingham, Alabama, and virtual sessions for women across Alabama, Texas, and Florida.
